Women's Christ Renews His Parish ("CRHP") Retreat
Christ Renews His Parish, or CRHP (pronounced "chirp") is a weekend retreat where adults are brought together in small groups in order to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and each other.
The CHRP Women's Weekend Retreat is October 9-10, 2010 and all women are invited to attend!
Following are some questions frequently asked about the CRHP retreats:
"What happens on a CRHP weekend?"
This is an opportunity to slow down, to reconnect with God, and to evaluate your direction in life, and to choose a spiritual path that strengthens your inner peace in all apsects of life. We will enjoy each other's fellowship, explore how the Gospel impacts our lives, and pray for grace.
You will hear moving faith stories, experience prayerful soul-searching, and connect with others on a very deep level. You will laugh, cry and be refreshed!
You will examine, rediscover, and intensify your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. There are both large and small group discussions, and plenty of time for prayer and reflection.
"Who conducts this retreat"
This retreat will be conducted by a Spiritual Director and Lay Director and the entire CRHP II renewal team who attended last year's retreat. Assisting the CRHP II women will be women from CRHP I who hosted last year's event.
"How long is the weekend?"
The weekend begins at 8:00 am Saturday and concludes by 4:30 pm on Sunday.
"Who may attend?"
Any woman, 18 years or older, who is out of high school.
"What if I am new to Rejoice?"
All women are welcome. You will grow together in this community of CRHP sisters. This may be the beginning of long-lasting friendships.
"What is and is not part of the CRHP weekend?"
This is a weekend of reflection and sharing of spiritual and real life issues. This is not a silent retreat, yet there is time to reflect and pray.
This is not a solitary retreat, and your participation makes the retreat a spiritual one for you and the other participants. Your participation is a key to the retreat.
"How do I sign up?"
A maximum of 24 women will be able to attend this retreat. A sign-up sheet will be in the narthex at Rejoice in the middle of July. Call Lesley Edmondson at 630-377-6201 or the church office at 630-262-0596 for more information.
"Where will I sleep?"
Sleeping accomodations will be in the church. Air beds will be provided. You will be asked to bring your pillow, blankets, or a sleeping bag. Bring pajamas, toiletries, medicine, a washcloth, and a hand towel.
"What about meals?"
Meals and snacks are provided by the CRHP women's and men's renewal teams. There will be warm fellowship, great conversations, and delicious food! You will not have to cook a meal - you will be pampered and refreshed! If you have a special diet, please let us know when you register so we will be able to provide for your needs.
"What should I wear?"
Casual and comfortable clothing for both Saturday and Sunday. A jacket, sweater or sweatshirt are also helpful. Please leave your watches and cell phones at home. An emergency contact number will be provided.
"How much does it cost?"
Nothing but your time. The retreat is lovingly brought to you by your CRHP II sisters and Rejoice.
"What about church on Sunday?"
You will be worshiping with your CRHP sisters and not at the regularly scheduled church services.
"Is October 9th & 10th all there is?"
Your spiritual growth is ongoing, and if you choose, you can continue with weekly fellowship and Bible study with your new CRHP III sisters, Lay Director and Spiritual Director from your special weekend. Together you will share your faith, reflect on scripture, and hold each other up in prayer.
