Hesed House

Hesed House is a shelter and advocacy center for the homeless located
in Aurora. Through multiple programs, Hesed House provides food,
temporary shelter, clothing, supplies, legal advice and health care to
people in need. Several of these programs are administered under Public
Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS). The PADS Overnight Emergency Shelter
is the ministry that Rejoice currently supports. We are one of many area
churches whose members volunteer to staff and provide food at least one
night every other month throughout the year.

The volunteers from Rejoice staff this facility from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m.
the second Saturday of alternate months, beginning in January. This
includes providing and serving a hot dinner and breakfast, as well as a
bag lunch for those not able to return to Hesed House during mid-day.
There are many other tasks we help with including dispensing supplies,
washing towels and dishes, monitoring the sleeping areas and helping
guests with a variety of needs.
