Rejoice Mission Team
Rejoice Continues in Mission!
A core part of the Mission Team's purpose is to be in mission - both locally and globally – to connect people to Christ and to serve people who are struggling. Over the past three years we have sent missionaries from our congregation to Honduras, where we partnered with World Gospel Outreach to provide medical care and supplies to the poorest of the poor in their country.
This year our mission team discerned that we would travel and serve within the United States. In October, we will join the relief effort on the Gulf Coast , which experienced much devastation in 2005 with Hurricanes Rita and Katrina, and again in 2008 when Hurricane Gustav devastated the area, causing more damage and slowing down the re-building process for many communities. Rejoice will send 30 missionaries to the Gulf Coast to help the local communities re-build by participating in Thrivent Builds Habitat for Humanity during the week of October 5th – 10th. The Mission Team will continue to meet throughout the year to discern other mission opportunities within our community, our country and beyond.
